Department Head’s Message
ChatGPT said: The Journalism Department is one of the oldest specializations in media studies. It aims to introduce students to the scientific and professional foundations of journalism by equipping them with skills in writing and editing for print and digital newspapers, producing newspapers and magazines, designing websites, and writing reports for radio and television. The department combines both theoretical/academic and practical/professional aspects. It focuses on training students in various journalistic institutions such as Al-Ahram, Youm7, and the Middle East News Agency, in addition to regular field visits to media institutions and cultural sites. The department also invites distinguished experts for in-house training. Students gain hands-on experience at the news portal "Shorouk Net" and the newspaper "Shorouk News." Graduates of the Journalism Department are prepared for a variety of careers, including: newspaper editor, photojournalist, press correspondent, journalist, newspaper/magazine director, website designer, digital content manager, content developer, radio and TV program producer, digital video editor, web analytics editor, mobile journalism developer, data journalism editor, and electronic media management.
