Dr. Soheir Saleh Ibrahim, Dean of the International Higher Institute of Media at El Shorouk Academy and President of the 10th El Shorouk Festival for Media Students’ Creativity, affirmed that the festival continues, year after year, to consolidate its position as a genuine platform for discovering young media talents and enhancing their ability to keep pace with the rapid developments in the media field. She noted that the tenth edition of the festival has witnessed broad participation reflecting the high level of trust it enjoys, with 26 Egyptian public and private universities taking part this year, in addition to 8 private academies and institutes. A total of 238 media projects are competing across various fields, including radio and television, print and digital journalism, public relations, and digital marketing. She further explained that this year’s edition has gained a distinctive Arab and international dimension through the participation of six universities from the UAE, Jordan, Algeria, Bahrain, and the United Kingdom, contributing to the exchange of expertise and experiences among media students and fostering a positive competitive environment that supports creativity and excellence. Dr. Saleh added that the diversity of submissions underscores the festival’s success in serving as an open space for the exchange of modern media ideas and visions, as well as a platform that enables students to apply their academic and practical skills in producing distinguished work that reflects their awareness of contemporary issues. She also highlighted the participation of a distinguished panel of senior professors, experts, and specialists in judging the entries, all of whom possess high-level professional and artistic expertise, expressing her appreciation for their efforts in supporting and evaluating students’ creative work. Moreover, she affirmed that the festival continues its tradition of selecting an honorary guest who represents significant artistic and cultural value. This year, the renowned actor Khaled Zaki will be honored in recognition of his rich artistic career, during which he presented outstanding works characterized by depth and professionalism, leaving a lasting impact on audiences. She explained that selecting such a prominent figure offers an inspiring model for young media students, embodying the values of purposeful art and responsible creativity, and enhancing their awareness of the importance of producing high-quality content that serves society. Dr. Saleh extended her gratitude and appreciation to those who have supported the academy’s journey, foremost among them the late businessman Mohamed Farid Khamis, in recognition of his contributions to education and culture. She also expressed her appreciation for the continued support of business leaders Yasmine Khamis and Farida Khamis, and their commitment to ensuring the festival is presented in its best form.
