Minister of Culture Honors Al-Shorouk Media Students for the Film ‘Palestine Neighborhood’ During the ‘Culture Day’ Celebration.”
The Ministry of Culture honored, on Thursday evening, the student filmmaking team from the International Higher Institute of Media at El Shorouk Academy for their film "Hai Filastin" (Palestine Neighborhood). The film was awarded the State Encouragement Award in the Social Sciences category during the Egyptian Culture Day festivities. The ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, along with a large gathering of prominent artists, intellectuals, and media figures. The film "Hai Filastin" was produced under the supervision of Dr. Aya Yehia, Lecturer in the Radio and Television Department at the International Higher Institute of Media; Dr. Fatima Al-Zayyat, Assistant Lecturer in the same department; and media professional Dr. Dina Fikri. During his speech, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, emphasized that "Culture Day" represents a recurring national occasion reflecting the State's deep belief in the role of culture as a soft power capable of protecting identity, shaping awareness, and instilling hope in society. He noted that the land of Egypt, which birthed civilization, continues to cultivate art and creativity, planting the spirit of life and innovation in its children. The celebration was attended by several ministers, cultural leaders, and public figures, including Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Ambassador Wael El-Najjar, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs. Also in attendance were the legendary composer Omar Khairat, artist Ali El-Haggar, and a distinguished group of intellectuals and creative icons. It is noteworthy that "Culture Day" is an annual celebration held on January 8th of each year. Organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture under the auspices of the President of the Republic, it honors creators, intellectuals, and artists who have enriched cultural life and contributed to building awareness and consolidating national identity.
