Al Shorouk Academy Honors Great Artist Kamal Abu Raya and Art Critic Mohamed Taeima
Al Shorouk Academy witnessed the honoring of the great artist Kamal Abu Raya in appreciation of his long and distinguished artistic career and his notable contributions to television drama, along side the honoring of the art critic and journalist Mohamed Taeima. Major General Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, Chairman of the Academy's Board of Directors, presented the two esteemed guests with the shields of honor amidst a warm reception. The honoring took place during a symposium organized by the Journalism Department at the Higher International Institute for Media titled "Drama and Reality," which was attended by artist Kamal Abu Raya and critic Mohamed Taeima, along with faculty members and a large number of students. The symposium saw remarkable interaction from the students, who posed a set of questions about the artist's career, artistic transformations, and acting style. The symposium was held at the Al Shorouk Media Theater, in the presence of the Academy's leadership, headed by Major General Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Mohamed Shouman, Vice Chairman of the Board, Dean of the Media Institute Dr. Suhair Saleh Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Institute Dr. Ilham Younis, Head of the Journalism Department Dr. Ramy Atta Sedeek, in addition to faculty members and students. The symposium was coordinated and its activities organized by Dr. Hend Yehia, Assistant Professor at the Journalism Department, Nermin Naguib, Assistant Lecturer at the Department, Mohamed Wael, Teaching Assistant at the Department, and Abdel Rahman Ibrahim, Editor at "Shorouk Net" website, with wide participation from the Institute's students
